The Early Years.

My love for photography actually started as a child. One year for Christmas I received a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles camera. My yellow and green camera took film and could only take 24 pictures. I started out taking pictures of everything. I soon realized the process and time to develop pictures and became a lot more selective.

Before I even started middle school. The opportunity to get the film developed lessened more and more until it was no more. In Middle school I started playing drums and music became my passion. I learned how to play piano, drumset, drumline instruments, and various percussion instruments. I played in high school bands, toured with a Drum & Bugle Corps, played in various college ensembles, and spent 8 years as the musical director of a church.

The Fire starter.

My current focus began in 2013. The birth of my son Jayden in 2013, shown in the picture, started the fire of my current photography journey. Needing better pictures of my son ignited my drive to learn photography and not just take pictures. Then in 2014, I started working for a non-profit. The non-profit works with youth 14-24 years old and adults of all ages. A few months after joining the nonprofit a camera was stuck in my hands for a youth event and needless to say, I hit the ground running.

My wedding Day in April of 2012

My Own Camera

At the beginning of 2016, my wife bought wanted to surprise me and bought me a camera as a gift. I didn’t see it coming but I had been looking for camera gear for months. With a few years of previous experience under my belt and my own camera, I started volunteering to take pictures everywhere! I took pictures at office parties, staff events, youth events, graduations, etc.

In 2017, some of the pictures I took made it to the level of general advertising for the company I was working for. In January of 2020, with over 30,000 images taken, I decided to turn my passion into a business. I spent years helping others to find their passion and move forward in life. I knew it was time for me to pursue mine. Hence the birth of Gooch Media Group.

The following is a picture of my wife and I on our wedding Day in April of 2012.

All in all.

While born in Los Angeles, I've had the opportunity to live in California and the Carolinas. Living in both areas allowed me to learn a variety of cultures and befriend people of all walks of life.

I have been a musician for over 20 years and have a love for music, photography, and film. I also have experience mixing audio at live shows and churches. The following has given me a unique skillset not found in many places.

On your special day, you should have fun and enjoy. Having someone reliable behind the camera is a must. I give consistent results and I'm always looking to improve. If the following sounds great, I would love to support you on your special day.
